Married on June 21st 1958 which is Mid Summer Day in England.
I was actually on embarkation leave for
Changi Singapore, as my posting came through
while we were planning the day.
We had to include a "codicil" in the invitations
that the date may be brought forward
in a hurry if I was posted before
the wedding date.
Even the Vicar was prepared
to change at short notice!
We are booked on an Asian cruise in January 2009.
This will be our major celebration but in order
to mark the day we had a long weekend
away at a "swish" hotel in Surfers Paradise
on the Gold Coast south of Brisbane.

We had an apartment in the Gold Tower on the left.
The larger tower sports a revolving restaurant
on the top floor where the seafood buffet
and desserts are "to die for" !
Valet parking and daily room
service made for an enjoyable
and relaxing weekend.
